O.P.I nail lacquer - Meet me on the starferry

So as you probably have guessed this post is about a nail polish that I bought recently, mostly I was intrigued by the cute little name and I think that it definately suits the colour. so I have already told you what I think about these polishes they do range in finishes like there are matte ones, satin ones and lustre ones etc.

so this colour is a very pretty dark taupe/ plum colour and when it hits the right light you can see hundreds of little gold sparkly bits in it. this is by the way out of the Hong Kong collection. the first coat that you put on does look very sheer but two coats just about do it. all in all a very pretty colour I think.

O.P.I nail lacquer - Lucky Lucky Lavender

Sorry I havn't posted for agessss but I've been on holiday and now have a few things to post for you guys.

so I have been searching forever to find O.P.I nail laquer since I first read about them on someones blog and wanted to try some out to see what it was like.

In the area where I live it's really hard to find any in shops but when I went on holiday I found they were for sale in the hotels spa shop so I went and bought two shades from the collection 'Hong Kong'.

This is 'Lucky Lucky Lavender'

its a very pretty pink/purple.
now I have found that these nail polishes are very I.Guess you would call it pigmented in colour and two coats is the maximum any nail would need. I decided I would put this colour on so I did my base coat, applied two coats of the colour.... but after the second coat of colour had dried I stared at my nails in wonder.... I didn't need to put on a top coat because the colour was soooo glossy and polished there really was no need.

so my top five bonuses about this product are:

- the range of colours available - if you go onto the O.P.I website you'll find out just how many there are.
- also the glossyness of the finish
- I am definately going to have to include the fact that the brush bristles are thick and smooth making the product super easy to apply
- the amount of product you get (15ml in one bottle)
- and last but not least how it takes so little time to dry.

yes I realise these polishes are expensive at £9.50 for one bottle but it's very good quality and well worth the money if you are a nail varnish junkie.

Will be starting my O.P.I collection very soon

Have a great week xxxx

Revlon Photoready foundation review

heyyyy guys so I went shopping to buy some foundation for my holiday and I wanted to get some Revlon Photoready foundation as I had heard some really good reviews about it because its a good price and works well for a drug store foundation. so i picked my shade (which is 003 shell) and got inticed to buy a few bargains then went to pay.
so now onto the reveiw ....

first of all Im going to start with the packaging its quite a stumpy type bottle and at the top has a cap covering the pump which keeps the product clean and the pump is also very controllable so you can have as much or as little as you want. this product is also very buildable.
now onto the formulea. it's not as thick as their Colourstay foundation and doesn't dry as fast either. it gives I would say about medium to heavy coverage but doesnt really look streaky. I would say put on a lot of moisturizer on your skin a few minutes before you put ont he foundation if you have dry skin as it can look cakey on dry skin (which is what I have). Like everyone says it does have sparkly bits in it but you can't really see them unless you look really closely, the one thing I do like about the sparkle is that it gives highlights to your face and airbrushes out most imperfections. I like the fact it includes SPF 20 in it so you don't need to add some sunscreen in with it in the summer months, it is also a lot more than in their Colourstay foundation which only has SPF 6. yesterday it lasted me around about 12 hours before it started to come off of my skin. so far touch wood I have had no break outs from it. I use a brush to apply it. I did notice yesterday though you could see some of my pores around my nose not good.

the price by the way is £12.99 for a 30ml bottle.

all in all I would rate this foundation 4.5 out of 5 stars.

heres a photo to show you what the bottle looks like:

Yankee candles

heyyyy guys so I know I havn't posted in what seems like forever, but I've been really busy.

I'm just going to do a product review on my new candles.

they are the yankee candles and I bought mine from house of fraiser I'm not really sure where else you can buy them from apart from their website. Basically to me they give off a strong smell which lingers around for ages- I found out as I burnt one before I went to bed the other night and I woke up in the morning still being able to smell the scent.

so here are the candles I bought:

Ocean blossom

this is a very light scent it reminds me a bit of the ocean with hints of water Lily and something like lotus.

garden sweet pea

this is the second one I picked up and my first thought was that it smelt of a really nice smelling lip gloss or lipstick, it sounds really wierd but is really pleasant. it has a bit more scent than ocean blossom but is still quite light. once I took off the packaging I could definately define the smell of flowers as it reminded me of a garden on a summers day.

tropical fruits

This is a candle that my friend pointed out to me I automatically saw that there was a lot of bright colours going on. To me it is the strongest smelling out of all three and reminds me of a mix of cinnamon, apples, pineapple and lots of other fruits like avocado.

all the scents and prices are on there website so if your interested go check them out.

off to get ready for going out to see Eclipse later hope it's as good as the book!

May Favourites

Heyyyy guys, so today I woke up and I decided I would try and sort out some of the junk in my bedroom.... my god there was soooo much stuff it took me forever but while I was sorting it out I decided I would put up a 'may favourites' post so here it is....

the first product on my list is a perfume from Yves Saint Laurent and is a summery limited edition of their perfume Elle. I was looking around for a new summer perfume for 2010 and thier bottle caught my eye on debenhams website so I clicked on it to read the description it said: ' A fresh solar interpretation of elle eau de toilette. an artistic explosion of colours and light, in the mood of a modern aquarelle.' which made me very interested and went into town a few days later to smell it and ended up coming out of debenhams the proud owner of this perfume. It's a nice sweet smell but not too over powering, It's a mix of summer fruits and a flower which I can't quite put my finger on. This scent reminds me of summer especailly the bottle too as it screams summer and heres a picture to show you just how fabulous it looks---->

The second product on my list is you rebel lite tinted moisturizer by benefit I've already wrote a review on it so if you want to read it find the post. :)

the third product I've had for longer than a month but this last week has been soooo busy I've had to use it multiple times and it is the dry hair shampoo by a brand called batiste and I have it in the smell/flavour tropical (it's the best I think) there is also original, boho, diva and blush to choose from too. This product I have found vey handy because this week I've been so busy that I havn't been washing my hair as often as I normally do because I honestly havn't had time so I just spray it on in the morning into my roots and comb it through my hair. It basically acts like a talcom powder and covers up the horrible greasy type feeling in your hair and makes it look more healthy. This is perfect for holidays and on the go.

The last product on my list is dove summer glow beauty body lotion. This is the perfect product for a build up tan and it won't streak. I use this on my legs as its the only part of my body that won't tan but this product is perfect for all over really. I use the fair to medium one as I have fair skin there is also a medium to dark one available.

Shopping!!!!

Heyyyy guys it's been boiling here again today have had the after-sun constantly sat on my table.

I went shopping today....

and bought a new maxi dress, I didn't know how this would look on me as I'm really short but it actually looks good and makes me look wayyyy taller.

this caught my eye it was really bright compared to all the other dresses in the shop and decided to try it on it did fit I think it needs to be turned up at the bottom though as it's too long with flat shoes. I am wondering when I'm going to actually wear this and what with at the moment I'm thinkin my wedges and a simple light coloured bag which I am yet to buy. tell me your veiws on what you think of maxi dresses and where you think is appropriate to where them. this dress is available in Republic for £26.99.

anyway onto my little stash of mac I bought today....

I went in not really knowing what colours
I wanted and came out with amber lights - a very shimmery gold, all that glitters - a pale pink, sketch - a very dark purpley brownish colour and tempting a natural brown with hints of gold.
I bought these eyeshadows in refill pans as I have palette already for me to just put them into and add to my collection, they are basically the same as the potted eyeshadows except without the black casing and has a magnet underneath to stick it to the palette the only big difference really is that the depotted refils are £9 two pounds cheaper than the potted eye shadows.

thanks for reading have a great weekend everyone!

You Rebel Lite

Heyyyy guys, so today it was really hot and sunny in Britain so I went to the beach and had a really good time, I mainly sunbathed and other times I was in the sea trying to dodge the huge waves. BUT .... when I got home unpacked then jumped in the shower I discovered some majorly bad tan lines and bright burnt, red shoulders soooo gonna have to get something done about that.

but getting to talk about my main object of the post today I present to you....

YOU REBEL (lite)

You Rebel lite the tinted moisturizer from Benefit

Now benefit usually has completely fun and eyecatching packaging which is part of the reason why I like them so much but this product has quite dull packaging for benefit even though I do have to say I love this product. Having dry skin with this added moisturizer in foundation it keeps my skin looking healthy, dewy and awake rather than completely dry and tired out. I also like the fact that it is a constant colour but changes and adapts to the colour of your skin so if your skin gets more tanned throughout the summer the tinted moisturizer will still look excellent and colour matched. I was thinking before I bought this product about the type of coverage it would give me but I was pleasantly surprised as it evens out the skin tone etc but does not cover over spots so you will when using this product need to cover over spots with a seperate concealer. I find its really easy to run into the skin as it doesnt dry quickly so you can take as long as you want. the tube is very easy to use it has a screw on lid and then you just squeeze the tube and the stuff starts coming out. I use my hands to rub this in as its too oily to use with a foundation brush. This I find stays on for around about 8 hours and you only need about half a pea sized amount. I use this everyday of the week incase you were wondering. For a tinted moisturizer I guess its not to bad a price as it is £21.50 but comes in a 50ml tube. There is also another you rebel which is the original and in a red tube although it comes out way too orange to be normal. Would defiantely repurchase this as its perfect for summer months when heavy foundation sweats off.

WARNING - this product does contain Oxybenzone which is a chemical that causes problems with skin and is found in some sunscreens, Its found in this product as its contains spf 15. If you are wondering what problems it causes I would recommend you google it although I have to say I have had no problems and have been using this for 2 weeks.

hope you've all been having a good week, off to paint my nails

Diet coke Nails Inc promotion

Heyyyy guys, just a short blog for today.

got some of those new nails inc nail polishes because at the moment I've become obsessed with nail polishes especailly as summer is coming (hopefully) and then I can wear bright colours like pinks, yellows and oranges etc. so I saw some cardboard box type shelves in boots with diet coke and nail polish on, intriged I went to investigate turns out if you buy 2 bottles of diet coke you get a specail nails inc nail varnish for free. There are four different colours to collect all named after famous cities around the world:

London - a pale greyish, pink colour

Milan - a bright red

New york - a bright pink

Paris - a dark purple

I have Milan, New york and Paris but I don't have london as I don't personally like that colour. I find that you only need one coat it lasts for ages and is a really good deal considering nails inc nail polishes usually retail at £10.50 each 10ml pot.

Garnier eye roll on

Hey everyone so its the weekend at last YAY!

I just thought I'd do a little post to keep you updated as my life has been very hectic this week.

So I went shopping on wednesday and bought two products both by garnier....

they are the caffeine eye roll on's. I got the normal one and the one with concealer added in. I have been looking at getting these for a while as I've seen them advertised on TV saying they treat dark circles and bags etc which I really needed to treat so heres the review....

this one is just the normal eye roll on. the first thing I noticed when I opened the box was the intense green of the bottle which I thought was a pretty cool colour and then the ball - now when I used this first I found it strange rubbing a ball around underneath my eye but now I've got used to it. it does really cool and refreshen your eyes and make then feel much more awake and makes the skin more tough and not so delicate. I have seen a difference in using this product as my dark undereye circles are getting a lot better, work still needs to be done but what can I say I've only been using this a few days.

this product is exactly the same but includes a concealer in the mixture so I will just focus on the concealer it will need to be rubbed in as the ball doesn't do a very good job but you cant ask for everything I guess. But it really does the job well you will no longer need to put a concealer under your eyes again if you use this. I use this product in the morning after I put on my foundation which it mixes in very well with.

all in all I have to say I love these products and will be repurchasing them when they run out.

they both cost £9.99 each for 15ml But at the moment there is a specail offer on at boots - if you buy two then you will only have to pay £12 which will equal £6 a bottle.

a strawberry smoothie for your skin

Heyyyy guys, just a quick post for you....

Just want to recommend a body cream from boots its from the natural collection range from Boots and is called strawberry body cream it smells delicious and looks amazing in the pot is a mixture of strawberry jelly cream swirlled with a white thick cream. it is definately a staple for your bathroom as it will add a cute touch. you can also use this product daily as it is very affordable priced at £3.49 for 250 ml.

I have just realised I cannot live with out sticky notes aren't they just wonderful with their different shapes, neon colours and not forgetting there sticky backs - making them handy, noticiable and lets face it FUN to stick on everything! I have realised now I have become so dependant on them I am litterally relying on them to help me get through my coursework - saving pages in certain books, posting to do lists all over my wardrobes and writing silly little notes on. Sometimes they have even saved my life with almost overdue work! yes they are brilliant and I think they deserve more credit! I'll leave you with that thought.

Candles and hairslides

Heyyyy guys so it's monday evening fun fun fun hope you've all had a good monday!

So I've just lit my rose scented candle and the smell is absolutely amazing if I knew where this was from I would definately recommend it to you ha ha. But anyways it says its meant to relax you and it actually is working. I decided to also do some revision and back up my very valueable computer files as I write this blog post.

So today I was sorting out my cupboard and found some candles that I was given to me for my birthday in march so I decided to start using them I had a rose one (which I'm burning now), an orange one which I hav'nt lit yet so I don't know whether it will smell gorgeous or will be a disaster, an apple one and a lavender one. I have always been a fan of scented candles as they can make even a dull room seem vibrant and the smell is also the first thing I notice when I walk into a room. but when I was little I had a bad experience with matches and since then have always been scared of lighting them which meant that every time I wanted a candle lit someone would haveto do it for me. In the end this long process of asking someone and getting them to find the mathes and light it etc became a very tiring process for such a simple, easy task - so I tried hundreds of different airfresheners and room sprays but none of them seem to be as great at making my spirits lift than the good old candle so years later here I am burning candles once again. But my favourited scented candle has always been a cinamon one which really smelt amazing but since then have never purchased a cinamon candle and I can't think why so next time I walk into a shop selling candles I'm going to make sure I try to find a cinamon candle and recommend it to you all.

I don't know about you but there is one thing I always have in my bedroom close to me and that I have noticed is bobby pins or hairslides whichever you want to call them and I find it really strange how I can need such a small peice of equiptment that only has one functional use - to grip hair back so frequently and depend on so often. hmmmm strange isn't it.

Now I've finished I'm going to snuggle down with a good film and hopefully fall asleep reletively earlier than yesterday when I managed to get to sleep at 2 in the morning and trust me I've been regretting it all day.

Sunday 2 May 2010

Hey guys today I wondering what to post because it's been ages since I posted anything and I just I really needed to. So I was looking around sites on the internet like river island, mac etc and I went onto lush and decided that I needed to take a trip there very soon as I have used up all the products I bought last time I was there in the shop that really was the best smell in town....

my first pick was flosty, gritter bubble bar which was recommended to me by a friend my first impression was that it was extremely sparkley and glittery and completely girly. the smell is very sweet im not really sure how to describe it. It for me was enough for 2 baths meaning that I cut it down the middle. It was basically just like a normal bubble bar and didnt really glitter like I thought it would but the water was indeed pink and left my skin feeling baby soft. this if anyone is wondering was £3.20 for 100g.

the next thing I picked up was the sweetie pie shower jellie somthing that I had purchased before and if you want to know my veiws click on the link as I have already wrote a review on it :)

the last thing I picked up was the each peach (and twos a pair) massage bar the first thing I noticed was the smell it was really strong peachy kind of citrusy smell which stood out from all the other massage bars. I picked it up and the lady walked over and talked me through how the massage bars worked basically they melt into your skin which I find is a very clever and effective fun way of making your skin smell amazing and feel soft. so I immidiately picked one up and joined the queue. this product I have found lasts for ages and so does the smell it is also (I find) a great pick me up smell for the morning to wake you up. I am definately going to repurchase it. it costs £4.63 for 65g.

Cannot wait to go for another visit to lush I am looking at purchasing some of their soaps - honey I washed the kids which is a honey cone looking and smelling soap, rock star which is bright pink and Miranda which is supposed to be a tropical smelling soap according to the website (I have not seen this soap in person).

Honey I washed the kids

Rockstar

Miranda

one last thing is it just me or have your nails breaking everyday for the past two weeks which mine have been doing and it's been getting on my nerves, I'm currently thinking it could be somthing in the air but have just applied nail strengthener just in case :).

Thursday 29 April 2010

My up to date skin care products

Heyyyy guys! so today it's a really gorgeous day with the sun out an being all warm an everything.

I was sorting out my cupboard when I decided that I'm gonna give you a little insight into my skin care products that I'm currently using.

now I know most people say how amazing these products are and stuff but I'm gonna back them up really I am. and I know most people go on and on about these products and are very popular but I use the Clinique brand products I find that this is one of the only brands that keep my skin healthy and fresh looking....

I use the 3-step skincare system '3 steps, 3 minutes, twice a day'.

so the first product that I use is the facial soap which acts as a cleanser.

'Clinically formulated cleansing-that's how great skin starts. Clinique's dermatologists believe soap is best. Our non-drying formula removes facial dirt and oil. Works to loosen surface flakes. Leaves skin feeling fresh, clean, comfortable-perfectly prepped for the exfoliating action of Clarifying Lotion. Custom-fit to skin type in Very Dry to Dry, Dry Combination and Combination Oily/Oily skin formulas.'

I find this a really refreshing soap to use it's available in solid soap or liquid I have the liquid which come in a cute bottle which is easy to use as it has a pump on. I use a good single pump which is about enough and can lather up just right. I havn't tried the solid soap so im not sure what it's like to use.

the second step is the clarifying lotion which is an equivilant to normal toner.

'Exfoliation is the engine of skin renewal. Why Clinique's dermatologist-developed Clarifying Lotion is the difference-maker. Custom-fit to skin type in Mild, Very Dry to Dry, Dry Combination, Combination Oily and Oily Skin formulas.'

the differet types of clarifying lotion are numbered and have different colours. I have number two which is the purple one, it is the most popular type of clarifying lotion. this product comes with a choice of two bottle sizes one is 200ml and another is 400ml obviously there is a difference in prices.

the last step is the dramatically different moisturisng lotion/gel.

'ramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion is the moisture "drink" developed by Clinique dermatologists to maintain optimal moisture balance. Custom-fit to skin type in Very Dry to Dry Combination skin formula.'
'The oil-free version of our famous moisturizer. Custom-fit to skin type in Combination Oily to Oily skin formula.'
this is a very good moisturizer but I only use it at night although it seems to last me forever. I have the lotion version as I have dryer skin.

also I have two other steps I added in myself the first is take the day off cleansing milk.

'Gentle, milky makeup dissolver removes even long-wearing facial makeup and sunscreens, then tissues off or rinses away with water. Residue-free formula leaves all skin types soft, comfortable. For all skin types; ideal for drier skins.'
this I find removes most of my make up very quickly and is very easy to use. although I do find that it stings my eyes alot :( but other than that I think this is a perfect make up remover. I usually use this product before using my facail soap as the facail soap doesn't remove makeup.

then instead of using the facail soap in the morning I use the seven day scrub.

'Skin looks translucent, clearer brighter; takes edge off tiny lines. Better stimulation; promotes even skin tone. Helps control oil-related problems. Gives a light reflecting look to mature skin. Allows better makeup application. Moisturiser absorbs more easily. Will not scratch. Gentle; leaves no residue on skin after rinsing. De-flakes, polishes, clears pores.'
this is the perfect exfoliator for me it leaves my skin soft and ready for my foundation application. I have also found it removes black heads effectively over time.

Now I'm going to jump in the shower and get ready for an Indian (also tonight I'm seeing case 39, hope it's good!)

have a great day! hope you enjoyed this little post :)

Scouting for girls new album = amazing!

Hey guys.... I hope you're all doing good! today was better then yesterday I feel more awake, not so groggy and my throat has stopped killing me YAY! I honestly havn't had a sore throat that bad in years(watch out, hope none of you get it) and now I am starting to worry this summer is going to be bad for hayfever sufferers :s. but anyways I want to do posts everyday and keep that up for a while so I came home had a shower etc. and then started to think of things that I could write about in my post today....

so there I was listening to the new scouting for girls album its called 'Everybody wants to be on TV'and I have to say this is definately my favourite album for a while. I have had it for a couple of days now and have been listening to it several times everyday, from the first time I listened to it I can honestly say I fell in love with the songs - they were super catchy and will deffo have you sining along to them all day. my favourite songs have to be 'goodtime girl', 'posh girls' and 'blue as your eyes'. seriously if you buy this CD you will not be dissapionted. But I still havn't decided whether I prefer this new album or their old one comment bellow and tell me what album you prefer and what song is your favourite :).
here are pictures of the album cover and song list at the back of the CD case:

I have also been noticing that I am over eccessively using hand gel at the moment I think that I know what has caused it though the swine flu epidemic I was soooo sure I didn't want swine flu I started using hand sanitizer everyday after hearing about how bad it actually is. but now I'm wondering if this is going to cause problems with my immune system and make me more prone to viruses and bugs going around. hmmmm I really think I need to stop this obsession :s.

right now I am hoping that I can catch the last 90210 episode on the TV sometime after stupidly forgetting to watch it on tuesday :( and plus I hadn't watched the episode the week before either ohhhh dear I really need to catch up I wanna know whats going on with Naomi and everyone. I feel as if I'm losing out on soooo much.

Ha ha I am amusing myself by tickling my dogs feet they are obvioucly very sensitive as she seems to be getting very ajitaded and has started to kick me oooops.

And just one last thing I have recently noticed that I dont like the style of jeans that are out this season the ones with rips in and which are rolled up at the bottom which seems to me sorry if I offend anyone but this is just personal oppinion I really think that they look kind of strange maybe as if they don't fit properly. I want to know if I'm going mad and actually they do look good please leave a comment bellow telling me your opinion on the new style jeans :).

off to make a hot chocolate with cream and marshmellows mmmmm :) byeeee guys xxxx

Descisions, descisions

heyyyy guys hope you've all had a great day! I've spent the whole day at home today as I've felt crappy but I have just had a refreshing shower which has made me feel better btw I used lush sweetie pie shower jellie which I am totally in love with( so sad I know right!) but I'll tell you what I love about it - it leaves my skin feeling soooo soft afterwards, It smells like the lushest sweets in the entire would and this scent lasts for ages on your skin so you go around smelling like a 'sweetie pie' all day :) and it glitters and I am abdolutely obsessed with glitter ever since twilight and overall it jus looks pretty so heres a pic -->
It's £2.30 per 100g at lush and is my favourite showergel of this month but the only problem is that because its hand made it has a sell by date on so I spose you have to use it up by then a bit like you do with food but this showergel seems to last for quite a while and also it takes a while to lather up.

I have just got rather annoyed with my internet because it has decided that because I am having such a good day (not) it is going to make my day worse by shutting down halfway through writing this post (thankfully I didn't loose it) well thats technology for you.

but I am currently deciding whether to study for spanish or paint my nails and if I did paint my nails what colour to use hmmmm descisions descisions....

soooo the verdict is I have decided to do some spanish which I know is the right choice but I will probably end up painting my nails as I really need to.

I'm thinking also about what post to do for tomorrow so if you want me to write somthing in particular if I dont find anything else in my rather boring life to talk about. if you do write me a comment:)

Tuesday 20 April 2010

hey guys so I really wanted to write a post but I really didn't know what to write about so I decided to write about the fashion at the moment and what type of clothes I would wear to match this style of fashion. ok so the fashion at the moment is based around the style of a cowgirl and since I really like that type of fashion I decided to use it and my choice of clothes as an example. I find that the cowgirl style is very contemporary and you can fit different elements of it into other fashions as it goes with most things certainly the cowboy boots do anyways. so here I'll give you an example of the gowgirl look I would wear.
first is this white top (from Jane Norman £25)with crochet detailling around the neck and chest

which I think would pair well with skinny jeans which you can get from any clothes store and some cowboy boots like these
. I have some of my own I can't remember where I got them from but I find them very comfy to wear and has very neat embroidery detailing along the top, has a two inch heel and is made from tan leather.there are a wide range of cowboy boots as they can have different sized heels different coloured leather and deteailling e.t.c so you can pick whatever type of boot you love. you can add any type of accessories as this look can be dressed up or down depending on where you are wearing it an can be mixed with any type of colour.

Crappy mornings

Ugh don't you just hate those days when you wake up and you feel completely ill but you know you still have to get up and get ready e.t.c even though you have no energy what so ever. well that was the type of day I woke up to today and I found out I had the worst sore throat I've had in a while loads of drinks and 2 ibuprofen later and I still feel the same as I did when I woke up, really not good.
